Northern Beaches Funerals
Northern Beaches Funerals provide expert funeral and memorial services across all the Northern Beaches Region. The Northern Beaches is a truly special part of Sydney. Northern Beaches Funerals are tremendously proud to serve the area. We are frequently recommended to be the funeral director of choice by many people within our home community.
Our stunning “bushland-meets-the-ocean” landscape has some truly beautiful funeral locations - both indoor and outdoor - from yacht clubs and golf clubs with stunning views, to any number of beach front surf clubs then to a wonderful array of tranquil bush reserves, many of which can accommodate a full funeral service followed by a separate cremation or burial.
Many funeral and memorial services these days are live-streamed to family and friends who cannot attend the service. In the past this has usually been due to distance and time-frame, but now we’re limited by these strange days of COVID-19.
Necessity being known last the mother of invention has brought us to deliver creative ways to involve those that are unable to attend our services in person. From lighting candles and arranging flowers for absent family to screening recorded tributes and placing hand-written letters of love and farewell. Technology really is enabling us to bring families together and to create truly meaningful farewells, despite distance and restrictions.
Before COVID-19 some chose to hold the funeral in their own home, which was particularly meaningful if a loved one has been in lengthy hospital or palliative care. Under COVID-19 regulations, this is no longer possible. However what IS entirely possible is to hold the service somewhere significant outside the home, or for the hearse to drive slowly past the family home, as friends and neighbours line the street in farewell.
The Northern Beaches has several beautiful cemeteries within easy reach, such as Frenchs Forest Bushland Cemetery, Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium or Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens & Crematorium. We manage funeral services in all these locations and many more across the wider Sydney region.
Cost is quite naturally a key consideration, and we therefore provide a full breakdown of every cost involved in a funeral service.
We show you the actual wholesale cost of each element of the funeral - for example, coffins actually start from around $300. To illustrate, a timber veneer coffin (the Richmond Maple) is around $360 with prices starting from as little as $150 for a fully biodegradable (and actually quite beautiful) cardboard coffin.
With so many local artists and creatives, the option to decorate a bio-board or cardboard coffin is increasingly popular amongst the Northern Beaches community. There is a great healing in this and families can really bond and heal whilst writing messages of love and farewell.
Children and grandchildren feel so much more comfortable when they can draw a picture to express themselves and the end result is usually so personal, so lovely and so meaningful that photographs are taken and cherished for years to come.
Often our older residents are interested in making some of their own funeral plans - families are sometimes surprised by this but many people find that once they start planning their own leaving party it becomes very life-affirming.
Knowledge brings comfort and empowerment and we are always happy to offer funeral advice, guidance and unbiased information to assist families in whatever funeral planning they may need.
Whether a loved one passed away and you are in need of immediate assistance or if you’re planning in advance, we can give you the necessary guidance to help simplify what seems to be very complicated.
We use easy to understand language and have an approach that is very straight forward.
Every person is unique. Every family is different.
With us, every Funeral is Individual.
