Newport Funeral Service

Funeral Service in Newport

Northern Beaches Funerals provide expert funeral and memorial services in Newport.

When a loved one dies we offer a gentle touch and professional guidance at a very difficult time.

Northern Beaches Funerals hold many funeral services in and around Newport.

This small area is tightly knit and we are tremendously proud to be recommended funeral directors within our home community.

Newport has some truly beautiful indoor and outdoor funeral locations - from the Newport Beach Surf Club to yacht local clubs (R.P.A.Y.C. & R.M.Y.C.) to headlands and quiet bush reserves - many of which can accommodate a full funeral service followed by a separate cremation or burial.

Numerous churches in the Newport area are also frequently used for funeral services. Many of the funeral services are live-streamed to family and friends around the world.

Some Newport families choose to bring their loved one home for a private vigil and to facilitate this we can provide a cooling plate plus the relevant advice and support.

Because Newport does not have its own crematorium or cemetery, the burial or cremation often takes place at Frenchs Forest Bushland Cemetery, Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium or Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens & Crematorium or at the Sydney Natural Burial Park at Kemps Creek.

With so many local artists and creatives around Newport, the option to decorate a bio-board or cardboard coffin is increasingly popular in this community. Some people find a great level of personal healing in decorating the coffin, writing messages of love and farewell. It's also a beautiful way to include children and grandchildren in the funeral ceremony.

Often our older residents are interested in making some of their own funeral plans - families are sometimes surprised by this - but as we always say, "talking about sex doesn't make you pregnant" and so it goes that talking about a funeral doesn't cause a death!

More seriously - knowledge surrounding the funeral service and processes brings comfort and empowerment and we are always happy to offer funeral advice, guidance and unbiased information to assist families in whatever funeral planning they may need.

Cost is often a key consideration and we always offer a full breakdown of all the costs of a funeral service. We show families the actual wholesale cost of each element of the funeral - for example, the cost of a timber veneer coffin, such as Richmond Maple is around $360, with prices starting from as little as $150 for a fully biodegradable (and actually quite beautiful) cardboard coffin.

If you'd like to organise some parts of the service yourselves - say bringing flowers from your own garden - you are very welcome to do so. We encourage this because it really brings you into the funeral service or memorial ceremony and can be far more meaningful than a florist arrangement.

Every person is unique.  Every family is different.
With us, every Funeral is Individual.
