Crossing the Harbour

In keeping with the transport theme from our last post, now we're talking about the route for the final journey.

While almost all of our funerals are conducted for people on or around the northern beaches, we do have professional services and mortuary facilities in the inner west.

The fact is that the deceased do need to be moved, there's simply no way around it... but there are ways we can do things better.

I'm not sure about you, but I'll only use a tunnel as a matter of convenience or last resort.

While I appreciate that tunnels are an engineering and construction marvel and I can absolutely see the genius that has gone in to making them... they don't really do much for my soul.

My mind is abuzz, but my heart sinks.

Even going to the airport from the north, I'll put another 5 minutes in to the travel time to be able to go over the bridge.

Bridges too are engineering wonders.

My mind in blow and my hearts soars.

With this in mind, we always ask our transport team to take the bridge, rather than the tunnel.

It doesn't cost any more money and only adds about 4 extra minutes of time.

It's only a small thing and makes no immediate difference to the deceased, but I do believe that someone, somewhere is watching.

So I don't think it can hurt to bring a little joy by crossing the harbour in the open air.

Every person is unique. Every family is different.
With us, every Funeral is Individual.
